De-mystifying CBD

answering the CBD questions everybody asks

Wellness | De-mystifying CBD, answering the questions everybody asks.

You've heard great things about CBD from your Mums bestie to Sandra at Tesco, so now your ready to take the leap .

You Google CBD and are hit with a million articles, thousands and thousands of products were on earth do you start? how does it work ? is it legal ? How do I even use it ?

Most people have a lot of questions when they start to look into CBD, so here I have compiled the questions we are most most commonly asked.

What is CBD?

Lets  keep it simple, CBD, otherwise known as Cannabidiol, is a natural chemical compound that comes from the Hemp plant. It is one of over 85 compounds found in hemp, known as cannabinoids.

How does CBD work?

CBD doesn't "do" the work, it signals your body to do the work.  We all have an Ednocannabinoid system , receptors in the Brain, Lungs , Liver, Immune system , muscles .. basically everywhere , help to keep things like your immune system, sleep, mood, stress levels, memory , appetite , balanced and regulated.

CBD interacts with these receptors to encourage the Endocannibinoid system to do its job and restore balance in your mind and body.

Is CBD legal?

Yes, in the UK , CBD is not illegal as long as it contains only trace amount of THC. Which is why all our products will never contain any more than 0.2% THC, and have had this tested by third party labs .

Can CBD get you high?

No, all our CBD is derived from EU regulated Hemp and contains below 0.2% THC. THC is the main Psychoactive compound in Marijuana that gives the high sensation.

Full Spectrum and Broad Spectrum whats the difference?

Full-Spectrum is an extract that features hemp in its purest, most unprocessed form. This extract contains all of the beneficial cannabinoids present in hemp: CBD, CBN, CBD, CBDa, CBC, CBG, and more. Hemp naturally contains a small amount of THC, so full-spectrum extracts will contain trace amounts of this compound, but always under the legal limit of .2% Broad-Spectrum is an extract that features all of hemp’s naturally occurring compounds and beneficial cannabinoids just like a full-spectrum extract, but has the THC removed.

Hemp oil or MCT oil ?

To start Hemp oil and CBD oil are not the same thing , and Hemp oil contains no CBD at all . However to create your CBD oil, CBD paste is added to a carrier oil, the two most common are Hemp Oil and MCT ( Fractioned Coconut oil ) we chose a MCT oil as a carrier as its the most bio-available , and consists of smaller fat molecules which are absorbed into the body faster.

What else is in my CBD?

We try to keep our ingredients to a minimum , and use as natural as we can. Our CBD oil , and capsules contain only 2 ingredients each , one of which is your high quality CBD. Our Soothe rub is packed with lots of natural goodies alongside your CBD. Check out the product pages for the full ( but not long) list of ingredients.

How do I know which product to use?

The main reason we created our very own brand of CBD was  to make CBD oil accessible to all , we had message's each and every day  asking us to help trawl through the million different products and customers just wanting to know " what  do I need?" Because of this we decided to keep our line of products compact , a simple collection , each product has a dose that can easily be adjusted for your needs. So just choose one that will suit your lifestyle best , it's that easy , check out our page Easy to choose for more information.

Is there a recommended dose ?

Each of our products has it own recommended dose, if you check the information page for each product we have given you guidance on dose , how to increase this and maximum daily dosage. You can also check out our page Simple  to use for more information .

Can I take CBD with me to other countries?

There are  so many countries around the world in  which CBD is legal , however there are also some places in which it is not . As times  are always changing we would hate to give you information  that may be outdated , the best thing to do is to check online  wether CBD is legal  in the place you are landing . If not we strongly advise you to refrain from taking products with you.

How do I know I can trust what I'm buying ?

The best way to check you are buying from reputable company is to check that they have lab test's performed by a third-party lab. They will be able to show you a Certificate of Analysis which which will give you a full breakdown of what is in the CBD you are buying . There are two main things to check on this 1. THC levels , as previously stated in the UK the legal limit is 0.02% for Food Supplements and this should be clearly shown. 2. The CBD content stated on the COA is the CBD content stated on the product.

Does CBD have any side effects or interfere with any other medications?

Finding a definitive list of side effects from CBD is a struggle, even a critical review by the World Health Organization (WHO) recently reported that CBD is a promising treatment for a number of medical conditions, is well tolerated, has a good safety profile, and doesn’t appear to be a risk for abuse, dependence, or other public-health related problems.

However there have been many reports of side effects from dis-honest CBD , all the more reason to ensure the products you buy are quality.

To keep everyone safe we advise that if you:

  • Are taking any medications.
  • Having any treatments advised by your doctor.
  • Have a compromised Immune system.
  • Are pregnant or breast feeding.

That you contact your doctor to discuss use of CBD.

Phhewww I think I covered everything there, all thats left is to pick yourself a product.

Now , I know things will seem a little clearer now , but perhaps not as clear as you would like. If you have any other questions , you can contact us via our contact page , Live Chat  ,  Email or find us on any of our social media outlets .
